Data-driven decision-making enables organizations to enhance employee experience, engagement, and productivity. Agile performance management models promote continuous feedback and growth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that doesn\u2019t mean every HR team approaches innovation in the same way or at the same pace. That\u2019s why we invited <a href=\"https:\/\/uk.linkedin.com\/in\/yasarahmad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yasar Ahmad<\/a>, global vice president of people at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hellofresh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HelloFresh<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dolcafreixes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dol\u00e7a Freixes Pascual<\/a>, talent and culture advisor at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrer.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ferrer<\/a>, to join <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.linkedin.com\/in\/jamieaitken1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jamie Aitken<\/a>, VP of HR transformation at Betterworks, to share what innovation means for them at an EmpowerHR Europe panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-find-the-right-pace-of-change\">Find the right pace of change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every organization innovates at its own pace \u2014 the challenge is determining the right pace of change for your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yasar and his team, for example, recognize the potential rewards of incorporating AI into HR processes, but they don\u2019t consider themselves to be \u201cearly adopters.\u201d Instead, Yasar has embraced the role of \u201cfast follower,\u201d which has allowed him to learn from the experiences of others. \u201cIf I can observe someone else doing something \u2014 a colleague, a peer in the industry \u2014 take what they&#8217;ve done, incorporate that into my work,\u201d he said, \u201cthat, for me, is a much more efficient way of managing my time, my capacity, within the team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Ferrer, Dol\u00e7a sets a different pace for change. She and her team shifted from a one-size-fits-all approach to employee experience to a much more nuanced understanding of different employee experiences based on different roles and levels in the organization. This mindset ensures that innovation isn&#8217;t just an occasional endeavor but a continuous, deeply ingrained practice that shapes the way a company operates and evolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ferrer, for example, is integrating its values into every aspect of organizational life, from decision-making to daily operations \u2014 an innovation that transforms the very fabric of the company. &#8220;Our purpose is deployed through the company, through our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.betterworks.com\/magazine\/hr-language-of-business-strategy\/https:\/\/www.betterworks.com\/magazine\/hr-language-of-business-strategy\/\">business strategy<\/a>, which has three pillars: great people, a livable planet, and social justice,&#8221; she said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ferrer\u2019s holistic approach to change ensures that innovation isn\u2019t limited to advancements in technology, but also nurtures a workforce that\u2019s motivated by a sense of purpose and committed to making a positive impact on the world. For example, Ferrer offers external mentoring to vulnerable youth who are at risk of dropping out of school. By prioritizing the employee experience, you can make sure that changes enhance rather than complicate the daily work experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yasar refers to this concept as seeking out &#8220;human-shaped\u201d innovations, specifically when evaluating new technology. \u201cDoes it have some human likeness to it?\u201d Yasar said. \u201cIs it going to be awkward for the user? Is it going to be awkward for the stakeholder or candidate or whoever&#8217;s using it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although Yasar\u2019s advice referred to selecting tech tools, his \u201chuman-shaped\u201d approach can inform broader change management decisions, too. Whether you\u2019re implementing an innovation that fundamentally changes how the business operates or simply deploying a new AI tool on a small team, the decision affects someone. When applying innovations at work, look through the lens of empathy and user-friendliness, focusing on solutions that are naturally intuitive and supportive of human workflows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through carefully pacing change, embedding innovation into your cultural DNA, and adopting a &#8220;human-shaped&#8221; approach to innovation, you can foster a workplace that\u2019s not only more efficient and productive but also more meaningful and fulfilling.
